It has been a while since URA FC last won the Uganda Premier League title.
The Tax Collectors who were a force to recon with at the turn of the century, have been playing catch up for nine year now.
Having won four titles between 2006 and 2011, they have never come close to securing a 5th crown since then.
However, they have not been so poor as it would be fair to suggest that URA is only third to KCCA FC and Vipers SC in that period.
Their recruitment structure-in terms of players, has left a lot to be desired in the recent past, prompting that it would take a miracle of sorts to topple both KCCA and Vipers.
In the current off-season, they have so far signed four players as they prepare for the 2020/21 season.
The latest of those signings is Arafat Galiwango who was confirmed by the club on Monday, September 28.
The left-back joined Sam Simbwa’s side on a three-year deal from fellow UPL outfit Police FC.
He join Jackson Nunda (KCCA FC), Hannington Sebwalunyo (Maroons FC) and Davis Ssali (Tooro United FC) as the new players that have so far come in.
During his unveiling, Galiwango wasted no time to suggest that he is at the club to win trophies.
“I am really happy to be at this great club with a good history and a proven manager. Noted the lanky full-back.
“I am looking forward to achieving great things here and winning trophies again with URA because it has been a while, which is what everyone is aiming at.
“I have also come here to try and improve and get better because i know as a player you always learn something new everyday be it in training or after a game.”
In the last couple of season, Galiwango has improved as a player and his abilities are well documented.
Whether he and his new teammates will push URA FC to glory once again remains to be seen.
The Tax Collectors finished 5th last season in the Uganda Premier League.
