
KAMPALA – Express FC have dominated the headlines in the last few weeks.
From signing eight player in a period of less than a month to the Disan Ggaliwango saga.
On Wednesday, they completed the signing of midfielder Mahad ‘Yaya’ Kakooza.
Kokooza returns to the club on a two year deal from Proline FC and will be re-united with former coach Wasswa Bbosa.
During his unveiling, the 22 year old was quick to note that he could not turn down the offer of playing for Express again.
“First of all, i am an Express FC fan and so is my dad. Kokooza noted.
“When they came calling, i could not turn down the opportunity.
“I am therefore so glad and proud to be at a club where i am familiar with the surroundings.”
Kokooza previously featured for Express FC in the 2016/17 season which was his first spell with the Red Eagles.
The attacking midfielder who scored for Express FC away against Kirinya Jinja SS now Busoga United in the 2016/17 season which also the Red Eagles’ last away win against the Jinja based outfit.
In the upcoming season, Kakooza will be tasked with ensuring that Wasswa Bossa’s attack is as creative as they come.
Two goalkeepers in Cryspus Kusiima and Denis Otim, centre back Richard Bbosa along with midfielders Abel Eturude, Baker Sakah, Godfrey Lwesibawa and forward Kiragga Mustafa complete the eight signings before Kakooza’s arrival.
Last season, Express FC finished 9th with 31 points from 25 games.
