LUGOGO – KCCA FC continued their squad refreshing attempts on Sunday night as they confirmed the departure of another long serving player.
The player in question is midfielder and playmaker Muzamir Mutyaba.
Mutyaba’s departure was confirmed by KCCA FC’s head of cooperate affairs, Moses Magero on Sanyuka TV.
The crafty playmaker has been at KCCA FC for five years, winning a host of trophies including three league titles, two Uganda Cups, the Pilsner Super Eight, two Uganda Super Cups and the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.
Mutyaba was also part of the KCCA FC team that made a historic run in both the CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup, where they reached the group stages.
After finishing second to Vipers SC in the league-last season, KCCA FC were expected to freshen up their squad and it comes as no surprise that a bunch of senior players are leaving.
The others that have left in the last few months include Erisa Ssekisambu, Jackson Nunda, Saddam Juma, Tom Ikara, Eric Ssenjobe, Jamil Malyamungu, Mike Mutyaba and Mustafa Kizza.
Walking in through the other door is Juma Balinya, Bright Anukani, Samson Kigozi, Brian Aheebwa, Denis Iguma, Stefano Mazzengo Loro, Charles Lwanga and Ashraf Mugume. The other player is Dominic Ayella who was promoted from the KCCA Junior Team.
KCCA FC are expected to sign up to three other players before they get done with their summer business while Nicholas Kasozi will most likely depart.
Last season, they finished second in the league with 50 points, four adrift of eventual winners Vipers SC.
