LUGOGO – KCCA FC have on September 23 continued reshaping their squad.
After reports circulated in the media that Mike Mutebi’s side are done with recruitments, they have let go of another player.
The player in question is Nigerian striker John Egbuonu Odumegwu.
Odumegwu’s departure was confirmed by KCCA FC CEO Michael Kirunga.
“Yes, it is true the club has mutually agreed with Odumegwu to terminate his contract. We thank him for his time at the club and wish him the very best in his future.” Kirunga noted as quoted by the club’s official website.
It is understood that the two parties agreed to part ways after Odumegwu failed to impress in his first season with the Lugogo-based side.
The striker still had a year left on his deal after penning a two-year contract last Spetmeber.
His only bright spot came in the 3-1 win away to Maroons FC last October when he netted one of the goals.
Odumegu is now the 10th player to leave KCCA FC, following into the footsteps of Erisa Ssekisambu, Jackson Nunda , Saddam Juma, Tom Ikara, Eric Ssenjobe, Jamil Malyamungu, Mike Mutyaba, Mustafa Kizza and John Odumegwu.
The Kasasiroa have also signed a couple of players already including Andrew Kawooya, Moses Kalanzi, Juma Balinya, Dominic Ayella (Promoted), Samson Kigozi, Brian Aheebwa, Bright Anukani, Denis Iguma, Stefano Mazengo Loro, Charles Lwanga and Ashraf Mugume.
Last season, Mutebi’s side finished second, four points behind eventual winners Vipers SC.
