
KAMPALA – Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC have completed the signing of Juma Balinya.
Balinya joins the Kasasiros from Kenyan record champions Gor Mahia FC.
His signing was confirmed on Sunday, September 6 via Sanyuka TV, a station which airs KCCA FC TV.
The midfielder turn forward is understood to have signed a three year deal with KCCA FC and is expected to don their colours up until 2023.
After a slow start to his career, Balinya rose to prominence in the 2018/19 season, scoring 19 goals for Police FC, to win the top scorer’s gong in the Uganda Premier League.
As a result, the former Vipers SC, AS Porto and Lweza FC player secured a lucrative deal to join Tanzanian side Yanga FC.
However, after just so months, the two parties agreed to terminate their agreement by mutual consent, allowing Balinya to move to Gor Mahia.
Despite starting brightly in Kenya, the record KPL champions listed him as one of the departures from their team at the end of last season, prompting Balinya to return to Uganda.
At KCCA FC, he becomes their 8th new signing after the capture of
Samson Kigozi, Stefano Mazengo Loro, Brian Aheebwa, Denis Iguma, Bright Anukani, Charles Lwanga and Ashraf Mugume all joined the club in the recent weeks.
Mike Mutebi’s side also promoted youngster Dominic Ayella from their Junior team, last month.
KCCA FC are attempting to win back the Uganda Premier League title they lost to Vipers last season after finishing second to the Venoms.
