The Emilia-Romagna Derby is always a fiery affair, with both Bologna and Parma eager to make up for rough starts to the season.
Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side was beaten 2-0 by Milan in the opening fixture, dominated by a Zlatan Ibrahimovic brace. Mitchell Dijks saw red in the final stages and is therefore suspended, but Gary Medel is available again following his ban.
The Ducali struggled to get the hang of new coach Fabio Liverani’s tactics and seemed oddly defensive in the 2-0 loss to Napoli, although it did allow them to hold out until Victor Osimhen’s introduction off the bench.
Parma have not kept a clean sheet in 15 Serie A games, a club record. Bologna have conceded in their last 34 games, an all-time Serie A record.
