
The Uganda Cranes will kick-start their journey at the 2021 CHAN tournament with a clash with neighbours Rwanda.
This was confirmed on Tuesday, October 6 after the fixtures for the tournament were released.
Uganda will be taking part in their 5th successive CHAN tournament after featuring in the 2011, 2014, 2016 and 2018 editions.
The game against Rwanda will take place on the 18th of January at the Stade de La Reunification in Cameroon.
In their second fixture, they will face Togo on the 22nd before closing off the group stages against defending champions Morocco, four days later.
After cruising through qualification, Johnathan McKinstry’s team is optimistic about an improved showing at the finals as compared to the previous edition.
The Cranes have never progressed past the group stages of the competition and it is their ultimate goal this time round.
In the last edition that was held in Rwanda, Uganda finished 3rd in a group that comprised of Zambia, Namibia and Ivory Coast.
