
KAMPALA – Uganda Cranes attacking midfielder Farouk Miya is one of the five finalists for the 2020 Football256 footballer of the year.
Football255, a Ugandan based website announced the final list of nominees on Wednesday, September 30.
Miya who got off to a brilliant start to his time at Turkish based side Konyaspor, scoring eight goals n 24 games, is joined on the list by three other foreign based players and one locally based.
Fahad Bayo who just moved to Isreal, Montreal Impact’s Mustapha Kizza and Nicholas Wadada who features for Azam FC in Tanzania along with last season’s Uganda Premier League top scorer-Steven Mukwala are the others on the final list.
This will be the second time the Football256 award is handed out.
Former KCCA FC playmaker Allan Okello won the inaugural edition in 2019.
This year’s winner will be announced on November 18, 2020.
Voting for your best player will be done via an online portal on the website, with every IP address guaranteed a single vote every 24 hours.
