The Uganda Hippos sealed qualification for the 2021 AFCON finals in, Mauritania, on Monday, November 30.
This was after they beat Kenya 3-1 in the semi finals of the CECAFA U20 Challenge Cup at the Black Rhino Academy Stadium in Arusha, Tanzania.
Proline FC striker Ivan Bogere scored twice, after Kenneth Ssemakula had opened the scoring.
Despite conceding an Enock Wanyama goal late in the game, Morely Byekwaso’s side held on to win the contest and storm the finals.
This is Uganda’s second victory at the competition having topped Group B with a 0-0 draw against South Sudan and a 6-1 win over Burundi.
Uganda will now face either South Sudan or hosts and defending champions Tanzania in the final that will be played on Wednesday, December 02 in Arusha.
Tanzania takes on South Sudan later on Monday at the same stadium.
