Brest vs Saint Etienne
Stade Francis Le Ble, Brest
Saturday, 21-11-2020 @7pm
Following the postponement of Marseille’s game there is only one Ligue 1 match for Saturday which will see Brest at home take on Saint Etienne.
Brest are in 13th place and have lost 60% of their games so far, although they did stop a 3 game losing streak just before the international break.
That victory came against Lille in a thrilling 3-2 encounter. Lille have been one of the best teams in the league so far this season and are in 2nd place so this was a huge win for Brest and underlines that when they are at home they are a very tough team to beat.
It is possible for Brest to move up a couple of places with victory at the weekend and whilst the prices will be very open for this game they will be the slight favourites to get the win.
Saint Etienne keep free falling after starting the season well. The club have lost six games in a row and they come into this match in 15th place. Their last result ended in a close 2-1 loss against Lyon and on the road they have lost 3 games and won just once with their last victory coming back in September.
Last season Brest won this fixture 3-2. Saint Etienne have not recorded a victory away to Brest since 2013 although it must be noted that the clubs have only played each other on three occasions since then. Brest’s win last season was their first over Saint Etienne since 2010.
