It is now official that KCCA FC will take on AS Kigali in the CAF Confederations Cup first round.
This was confirmed on Sunday, December 06 after the Rwandese side eliminated Botswana’s Orapa United on away goals rule.
Kigali won the game on Sunday 1-0 to ensure the tie ends 2-2 on aggregate, having lost the first leg 2-1.
To reach this stage, KCCA FC got a bye from CAF and the two games against Kigali will be their first and second in this season’s competition.
The first leg of the tie will see KCCA travel away from home and it will take place on either 22nd or 23rd of this month, in Kigali.
The 13-time Uganda Premier League champions will then host the second leg in Lugogo on either 5th or 6th January.
The winner between the two sides will face one of the sides that will have lost their CAF Champions League playoff round tie, for a place in the Confederations Cup group stage.
KCCA FC last appeared in the Confederations cup group stages in 2017.
