Uganda Premier League
KCCA FC vs Mbarara City FC
MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo
Friday, 11-12-2020 @4pm
KCCA FC will be without midfielder Gift Ali when they take on Mbarara City FC in the Uganda Premier League on Friday.
Ali who started in the humiliation of Onduparaka FC on Tuesday, has been ruled out of the contest with a knock.
He joins the likes of Bright Anukani, Musa Ramadhan and Steven Sserwadda who are under quarantine and will be absente for the clash.
However, the Kasasiros welcome back the youthful duo of Joseph Kafumbe and his name-sake Bukenya who have both recovered from their respective injuries.
Mike Mutebi’s side is hoping to continue their 100% winning start to the season after registering victories in their opening two games.
The Kasasiros have so far been firing on all cylinders, beating Bright Stars 2-1 and hammering Onduparaka 8-0.
Without a doubt, they have been the best side in the division so far and Mutebi says they want to win Friday’s game as they attempt to secure this season’s title.
“We want to win the game and get the three points but whatever else that happens in the game is beyond us. He noted in the pre-match press conference.
“We are the best team in the league and want to win it (title) but it will not be easy as evident from the first games as teams are scoring lots of goals and winning games.”
Against Mbarara, they take on a side that is yet to win this season.
The Ankole Lions are coming off a 3-0 loss to SC Villa in their last game. Their opening game saw them come from a goal down to draw 1-1 with URA FC.
It is not going to be easy for Mbarara to take anything away from the game but it is not beyond them as they have lost only one of their past three visits to Lugogo.
Match Facts
This will be the 7th meeting between the two sides since 2017-when Mbarara made their latest return to the top flight.
