Fiorentina are yet to score in Serie A under new coach Cesare Prandelli, but Genoa have only kept one clean sheet in 2020-21.
The Viola are on a winless run of four games and have lost 1-0 to Benevento and 2-0 to Milan since Prandelli took over at the Artemio Franchi.
But the guests are in a similar position and Rolando Maran’s men have lost their last four games on the bounce, and the 4-1 success over Crotone in Week 1 remains their only success so far this term.
The pressure mounts on Maran after a streak of eight games without a win and both coaches will be looking to turn things around on Monday night.
Prandelli tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday and the team group were put in fiduciary isolation, but three consecutive tests have confirmed his negativity and interrupted the quarantine.
It shouldn’t affect the preparation for Monday too much, but the matches between the Viola and the Rossoblu tend to end in a draw.
The two sides have shared the spoils in 10 of 18 meetings from 2011-12, but Fiorentina have only won once in their last nine games against the Grifone in the League.
Fiorentina haven’t scored in their last four Serie A games. Only three times in history have the Viola registered five consecutive games without scoring (1947, 2002 and 2019).
