KAMPALA – Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa has named the traveling squad for the CECAFA Kagame Cup slated to kick-off on 1st August in Dar-es-Saalam Tanzania.
The squad which consists of 20-player was announced on Thursday afternoon before the team left for Tanzania.
New signings, winger Joseph Akandwanaho and goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa make the squad along with Murushid Juuko who just renewed his contract for another season.
In the same vein, midfielder Abel Etrude has been named the assistant captain of the team replacing goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga who left the club at the end of last season.
Express have never won the championship before but are hoping to emulate other Ugandan sides like KCCA FC, Police FC and SC Villa who have won it six times between them, previously.
The Red Eagles losses in the 1994 and 95 finals are their best performance at the competition.
