URA FC have released midfielder Ivan Ntege and winger Micheal Birungi.
The development was confirmed by the Uganda Premier League side on Tuesday, August 10.
“Ntege and Birungi became tax collectors in 2019, and they now depart the club after two good years of football in which they both managed to score a goal on top of working tirelessly to see that the team gets positive results,” part of the club statement read.
Ntege joined URA on a two-year deal as a free agent following the expiration of his contract at Botswana giants Township Rollers.
Ntege scored on his debut against Maroons FC in the opening match of the 2019/2020 season.
Birungi came from Express in the same transfer market and signed a two-year contract keeping him at URA until 2021.
His first goal came at home to SC Villa in 2020 and has been used as a substitute, mainly, just like Ntege.
Earlier on, URA also parted ways with Head Coach Sam Simbwa who was shortly replaced by an interim Simeon Masaba.
Brian Majwega has also since moved on as a free agent and signed for rivals KCCA FC.
URA have made only one official signing this off-season, so far, but transfer activity is expected to intensify in the coming weeks.
