A Ugandan university student has made headlines after winning a staggering 400 million Ugandan shillings (approximately £80,000) in sports betting, prompting him to quit his studies.
Isaac, a second-year student at Uganda Christian University’s Arua campus, had been struggling financially before his big win. He decided to take a risk and invest in a fixed sports betting game provided by the Uganda Bettors Association.
“I was skeptical at first, but after thorough research, I decided to take the risk,” Isaac explained. “I asked the association to stake on my behalf to avoid any mistakes. All I could do was wait.”
Isaac’s patience paid off, and he was overwhelmed with emotion when he discovered he had won. “I didn’t sleep that night. I didn’t even follow the games. All I did was pray,” he recalled. “When I checked the results the next morning, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had won!”
With his newfound wealth, Isaac has decided to abandon his academic pursuits. “Why struggle with books when I’ve already achieved financial freedom?” he reasoned.
The Uganda Bettors Association has welcomed Isaac’s win, emphasizing the importance of responsible betting practices.
