A primary school teacher from the eastern district of Bukedea has won a staggering UGX 400 million after placing a bet with a betting firm with tips from the artificial intelligence-powered platform Pawa Bet.
Andrew Olokojo, from Bukedea, said he was “still in shock” after winning the huge sum through Pawa Bet fixed games.
“I’ve been teaching for many years, but I’ve never seen that kind of money in my life,” Mr Olokojo said.
He said he had decided to try his luck after hearing about other people’s successes with Pawa Bet.
“I chose fixed games, paid for it, and waited for the results. When I received the message that I had won, I couldn’t believe it,” he said.
The win has been met with widespread celebration in Mr Olokojo’s community, with many praising his good fortune.
Pawa Bet, the company behind the betting prize, uses artificial intelligence to generate predictions.
The firm has been operating in Uganda for several years, offering a range of betting services to customers.
Mr Olokojo’s win is one of the largest ever recorded in Uganda’s betting industry.
He says he plans to use the money to improve his family’s living situation and invest in his community.
“I’m very grateful for this opportunity. It’s a game-changer for me and my family,” he said.
