
KAMPALA – Tooro United FC and Arua Hill SC earned direct promotion into Uganda’s elite Premier League.
Tooro – who are returning into the Uganda Premier League after season in the lower league topped the Rwenzori group with 31 points from 14 matches while Arua Hill finished on top of the Elgon group with 30 points.
The confirmation for the promotion of the two teams came after the final round for the regular season, which climaxed on Sunday successfully with several matches on the card around the country.
Tooro under the stewardship of Edward Golola as coach beat Kigezi Home Boyz FC 1-0 in a match that was played in an empty Muteesa II – Wankulukukuku Stadium.
Marvin Oshaba scored the all-important goal, a well struck penalty in the 27th minute that also condemned Kigezi Home Boyz FC to relegation.
Arua Hill – on the other hand thumped Paidha Black Angels 4-0 at the Barifa play ground in Arua City to seal the direct berth in style.
Rashid Kawawa struck a brace with Gadafi Gadihno and Ceaser Okhuti each adding a goal for Arua Hill.
The remaining slot to determine the third team will be decided through play-offs at a date – which Fufa Competitions Department will communicate.
The play-offs will have Gaddafi FC taking on Nyamityobora FC while Proline FC faces Blacks Power FC to determine the two finalists who will lock horns for the third club to join Tooro United FC and Arua Hill SC.
